Google has rebuilt Maps from the ground up. If you don’t have it yet, you can request an invitation to get it here. Once you make a request, you should be able to see it live on your computer within a few days. You should become familiar with the new Maps, so ask for your invitation and get on board. It only takes a minute.

With the new Google Maps, we’re seeing what Google would like to eventually give us in all areas of search, not just Map search. It’s completely integrated with other Google products and is personalized in a way that will amaze you. It’s also highly interactive and learns about what you like to do on Maps, how you use it and the types of results you like to see. The more you use it, the more personalized your experiences become.

You can see some great videos from Google  on how to use the new Maps here. Check them out!

Unfortunately the New Maps is still slow, even with a good internet connection, but you can switch back to the classic Maps view if you find that too annoying. Just click on the gear icon at the to right of your screen select Classic Maps.
